beanz magazine published kid-friendly STEAM and computing content in print and online, from August 2013 to April 2024. We published 1298 articles in 71 issues online with 53 of them in print.
The magazine started as Help Kids Code in 2013, evolved to the world's longest magazine title name, Kids Code & Computer Science, then arrived at the short name beanz (a riff on Java beans, reusable bits of code).
From April 2024 to April 2025, the magazine evolved into a twice a week email newsletter called 30 STEM Links. Mostly to fulfill open orders when the print magazine stopped publication.
We had a core group of 11 writers plus a copy editor, technical editor, social media manager, marketing director, and art director.
